One of the local newspapers did publish an article that said “there is talk of rebuilding” the controversial monument, despite being founded by an anonymous creators.
“Now that the county’s most widely-discussed landmark is gone, there is some talk about rebuilding,” the paper stated. “…However, Vaughn said the county will not take on the task of rebuilding the monument.”
It might be a reasonable idea, given that the Georgia Guidestones have controversially called for “maintenance of humanity under 500 million”, that would require killing nearly 95% of the world's population.
The Georgia Guidestones were created in 1980, costing around a half-million dollars and built by a small group of people. We don't know their identities because these founding fathers feared reprisals.
George Guidestones has become famous partly due to its uncanny resemblance to Stonehenge. They're made in a way as to track astrological cycles including the winter and summer solstices, and Polaris - an important star in the night sky.
